A traffic police officer is accused of brutally beating two people
Police lieutenant Ilya Vyacheslavovich Yakutin, an officer of The State Automobile Inspectorate, has been charged with abuse of authority and torture resulting in grievous bodily harm (Chapter 5, Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code). According to the investigators, he pursued a car that had refused to stop when signaled by traffic police. Once the car was stopped in a courtyard, he forced two passengers (neither of whom was the driver) out of the vehicle and beat them. One of the victims was hospitalized in critical condition and permanently lost sight in his left eye.
