The criminal case of Filinkov and Boyarshinov (case of «Set») was considered in Saint Petersburg and widely covered in the press. In the report, we analyzed 85 publications in 10 media outlets between January 2018, when the suspects were arrested, and June 2020, when the court of first instance handed down the verdict. In accordance with international standards for the coverage of trials, we analysed the material with regard to the respect of journalists for the presumption of innocence, the inadmissibility of discrimination and the use of hate speech, and the completeness and impartiality of the coverage of the trial.
